Job Summary

The Sustainability and Climate Change Specialist shall be a part of the Sustainability Development team to work with multi-stakeholder and cross-functional teams to achieve the companys vision in sustainability and to drive the True Sustainability Goals 2030 and Net Zero 2050 and to ensure organizations are operating in an environmentally friendly way

Job Responsibilities*

Climate Strategy Development: 

  • Lead the development and execution of a climate strategy and budget aligned with True Sustainability Goals 2030, Net Zero 2050, company strategies, and industry best practices.
  • Identify climate risks and opportunities, and develop actionable solutions. Recommend innovative technologies that enhance climate resilience and sustainability in telecommunications.

Emission Reduction and Mitigation: 

  • Work with cross-functional teams to set emission reduction targets across operations, including network infrastructure and supply chain.
  • Promote renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies to reduce GHG emissions. Drive GHG Scope 3 programs in collaboration with business units and suppliers, ensuring continuous improvement and performance monitoring.

Assessments, Compliance, Reporting, and Engagements: 

  • Lead the creation of climate-related reports and roadmaps while ensuring compliance with international standards (SBTI, CDP, TCFD, FTSE4good).
  • Maintain a GHG emissions database for monitoring, forecasting, and reporting. Represent the company in relevant forums and advocate for climate-related policies.

Environmental Aspects Management: 

  • Develop and implement environmental policies, raise awareness of environmental issues, and ensure resource use aligns with ISO14000 standards.
  • Attend public hearings and conferences to engage with environmental discussions.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related fields.
  • Minimum 10 years experiences working in environmental management, climate strategy, sustainability or related roles
  • Excellent skills and experience in ESG assessments and reporting in international standards, e.g.  SBTi, DJSI/CSA, GRI, TCFD, CDP, ISO14000
  • Excellent skills in analytical, problem-solving and project management skills and strong communication and interpersonal skills and high English proficiency in writing and speaking
