Job Summary

  • The Entertainment & Lifestyle Specialist role is critical to True’s continued growth and leadership in the rapidly expanding Digital Products sector. Entertainment and lifestyle services are currently one of the fastest-growing digital categories and have become a significant revenue contributor to True in 2024. In just over a year, following the formation of this dedicated team, we have achieved a 1,000% increase in monthly entertainment revenue, primarily driven by successful partnerships with global leaders like Netflix and market-leading Entertainment Combo packages (e.g., VIU, IQIYI, WeTV) 
  • This remarkable growth underscores the need for a Specialist with strong commercial experience to drive the next phase of growth, managing the complexities of the international entertainment market and ensuring continued revenue growth. The entertainment sector’s highly competitive nature and global scope demand a Specialist with strong blend of commercial, telco, and industry skills.
  • Looking ahead to 2025, several game-changing initiatives are planned, including the launch of global services. Additionally, the ongoing innovation project is a first for Thailand and expected to bring substantial ARPU uplift and customer retention.

  • The Specialist, Entertainment & Lifestyle role is crucial to True’s continued success in an increasingly global and competitive market. This person will be responsible for activating the desired growth potential in the entertainment sector, building and nurturing key international partnerships, and innovating to deliver transformative services to True customers. Specifically, the Specialist will be the go-to person for commercial tasks (pricing, costing, feasibility, and partnerships operations), which spans more than 10 partners, 4 internal commercial business units, and growing.
  • Given the expertise required to manage the complexity and scale of the entertainment products, as well as the disproportionately high expectation of revenue growth, this position demands a Specialist with proven expertise in business commercials. The strategic importance of entertainment in driving ARPU growth, customer retention, and market differentiation for True makes this role a critical investment to secure continued leadership and success.

Job Responsibilities*

  • P&L Ownerships: Oversee the financial performance of the Entertainment & Lifestyle business, ensuring alignment with company objectives, profitability, and growth targets.
  • Growth-Hacking: Drive innovation and market penetration implementation that enhance the business's portfolio while ensuring strong margins across the product mix.
  • Strategy Development & Execution: Define and implement the strategic direction for the Entertainment & Lifestyle business, ensuring it drives alignment with True’s long-term vision and business objectives.
  • Partner Management Support: Build and maintain strategic relationships with key global and regional partners, such as Netflix, YouTube Premium, and others, operating regular business reviews and long-term growth.
  • Operations Leadership: Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Entertainment & Lifestyle business, ensuring that all product strategies and special projects are executed efficiently.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, product development, sales, and operations, as well as external partners, to ensure seamless delivery of entertainment propositions.
  • Innovation & Business Development: Lead commercial and technical initiatives to secure new growth opportunities, incorporating emerging trends to stay ahead in the competitive entertainment landscape.
  • Global Outlook: Keep abreast of global trends in entertainment and lifestyle services, adapting these insights into actionable local strategies that will drive growth in Thailand.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or related fields. Master’s degree an advantage but not required.
  • Proven experience in commercial roles within the entertainment, lifestyle, digital media, or tech/telco industry, with a strong track record in growth management and business development.
  • At least 6 years of proven experience in managing growths, particularly with leading entertainment platforms (e.g., Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, Apple, etc.) or other tech/telco products.
  • Expertise in financial management e.g., pricing, forecasting, costing, etc.Expertise in customer journey management and intermediate UX design skills
  • Intermediate understanding in business accounting and microeconomics
  • Expertise in implementation of strategy, business development, and operations within digital subscription-based models or similar high-growth environments.
  • Exceptional commercial management skills with ability to lead cross-functional teams and inspire new growth areas.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to develop short and long-term growth plans while executing day-to-day operational needs.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, both internally and externally. Chinese language communication in addition to English is an advantage.
