Job Summary

Responsible for building the business intelligence system for the company, based on the internal and external data structure. Responsible for leading the design and support of enterprise-wide business intelligence applications and architecture. Works with enterprise-wide business and IT senior management to understand and prioritize data and information requirements. Solves complex technical problems. Optimizes the performance of enterprise business intelligence tools by defining data to filter and index that add value to the user. Creates testing methodology and criteria. Designs and coordinates a curriculum for coaching and training customers in the use of business intelligence tools to enhance business decision-making capability. Develops standards, policies, and procedures for the form, structure, and attributes of the business intelligence tools and systems. Develops data/information quality metrics. Researches new technology and develops business cases to support enterprise-wide business intelligence solutions.

Job Responsibilities*

1. Data Preparation and Modeling

  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and prepare data from multiple source systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, Web Analytics) for reporting and analysis.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data models (e.g., star schema) to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and efficient query performance.
  • Perform data validation, testing, and quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability of reporting outputs and business metrics.

2. Reporting, Visualization, and Analysis

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, and Looker.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and investigative research to address business questions and identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Monitor key business performance metrics, identify root causes of variances, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Translate complex data into meaningful business insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.

3. Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication

  • Partner with business stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and other functions to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
  • Gather, analyze, and translate business needs into technical specifications and reporting solutions.
  • Present analytical findings, recommendations, and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences through effective data storytelling and visualization.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to end users on BI tools, dashboards, and reporting solutions to promote a data-driven culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field, with relevant experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Reporting, or Data Management.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, data extraction, transformation, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts, including ETL/ELT processes and dimensional modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar platforms, including dashboard development, reporting, and data source integration.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, Salesforce, Google Analytics), and data governance best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions, present findings to diverse audiences, and support a data-driven decision-making culture.
