Job Summary

The AI Governance & Regulatory Lead is responsible for establishing and enforcing the organization’s AI governance framework, ensuring that all AI systems are compliant with applicable laws, ethical standards, and internal policies. This role acts as the bridge between technology, legal, risk, and business teams to enable responsible and scalable AI adoption.

 

Job Responsibilities*

AI Governance Framework

  • Design and implement enterprise-wide AI governance policies, standards, and procedures
  • Define AI risk classification models (e.g., high-risk vs low-risk AI use cases)
  • Establish approval workflows for AI model development and deployment

Maintain AI inventory and model registry across the organization

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with global and local AI regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, data protection laws, sector-specific regulations)
  • Monitor regulatory developments across markets and translate them into internal policies
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulators and external auditors
  • Support regulatory filings, audits, and reporting requirements

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Law, Risk Management, Compliance, or related fields

 

Strong understanding of AI governance, ethics, and regulatory frameworks in an enterprise environment

  • Experience in AI governance, digital/data governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, or audit functions
  • Proven track record working with cross‑functional teams (technology, legal, risk, business)
  • Experience engaging with regulators, auditors, or external compliance bodies is preferred

 

  • Certification related to AI ethics, data protection, or governance (e.g. Responsible AI, Data Privacy, Risk & Compliance)
  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CIPM, or equivalent are an advantage

 

  • Knowledge of AI governance frameworks, AI risk classification, and AI lifecycle management
  • Understanding of global and local AI and data protection regulations (e.g. EU AI Act, data privacy laws)
  • Strong policy drafting and translation skills (regulation to internal policy and standards)
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills
